Khuvsgul is the second largest freshwater lake in Asia and was formed around 2 million years ago. It is located on the borderline of Central Asian steppes and Siberian Taiga forests. It is home to one of the country’s most unique ethnic groups – the Tsaatan. The Tsaatan people, also known as Dukha, make their living mainly through reindeer herding.
In the Winter, the lake freezes over completely and hosts winter festival activities. If luck allows it, you may see some of the unique local wildlife such as – ibex, argali, elk, deer and moose.
In the morning, meet with the local guide and take a flight to the town of Moron. Upon arrival, have lunch at the local restaurant and drive 120km towards our camp located by the lake shore.
